In 2011 the Lorraine will be cruising through the Alsace and Lorraine regions of France. This is a region rich in history and has a very strong regional culture. It is also one of the best wine routes in France with many relatively unknown treasures. As you cruise the majestic Vosges Mountains tower in the distance with turreted castles, and you will float through picturebook villages with brilliant displays of petunias and geraniums, making this a most memorable cruise. The Lorraine is a very comfortable barge with a spacious living area, bar and separate dining room. Each of these areas has large picture windows so you have an excellent view of the exterior at all times. She accommodates 22 passengers in 11 identical twin cabins, some of which have a third bed that folds out from the wall and can be used for younger children wishing to sleep in the same cabin as their parents—either on the ‘Family Cruise’ weeks or as a charter with more than 22 people. Bathrooms are small but functional, comprising a shower, washbasin with shelves and WC.
